Either your user  name or  password (or both)  are incorrect  or being
entered incorrectly.

Freeserve give quite a good help service so phone  them and  tell them
what you think your  username and  password are. If  you get  at least
one  right,  they'll  usually  tell you the  other, provided  that you
convince them you are you! :-)

Once Freeserve have confirmed that you have  the correct  username and
password,  you  can concentrate  on getting emailer  to work.  I don't
know  if  Freeserve  requires  the  "%"  method  because  I  don't use
Freeserve myself. My brother does, but he uses Panther "Mail".

I  spent an unproductive  hour with  him last week  as he  was totally
convinved that he knew his username and password (same problem  - he'd
never gotten  around to  writing them down).  Turned out  he'd changed
them 6 months ago but the nice guy at Freeserve jogged his memory!
