Hi fellow Emailer List members:

I had sent an email to Chris earlier today as I had another experience
with that weird gif:

>>I just tried logging onto an Eddie Bauer Outlet site and a suddenly,
>>mid-load, something downloaded and, once again, a bunch of empty Explorer
>>windows starting opening one after the other.
>>
>>I stopped them from doing with Command-period.
>>
>>Here is a copy of the downloaded file (that you had recently requested to
>>see).
>>
>>Its name is a number - as was the last one.

Chris replied in part:
>
>I'm not sure what caused it, but I could take a guess. The GIF was stored
>at a URL that let the web page push a popup window to you. That window
>probably pushed another, and so on.

>Regardless... the easiest way to stop this problem in the future may be
>to stop using Internet Explorer. The #1 web complaint is popups, and
>Microsoft is the ONLY browser developer that has NOT put popup blocking
>into their browser

So I looked into Mozilla and iCab and discovered the following. Any
opinions?

As far as I can tell, Mozilla is only for OSX.

ICab is quite nice - I remember trying it out once before. My problem
with it is that I can't seem to find a convenient Historical reference,
ie it doesn't have a "go" button on the Navigation bar. One seems to have
to go to the menudbar to look under Navigation > Today or open the
History window separately. Explorer's Navigation bar has both a pull
down Go button to see the last 10 sites, a History button and very handy
sidetabs for history as well as snapshot and page holder lists, features
that I use all the time.

How do you use iCab to navigate efficiently?

Tannis
