Mary Lou: These zip files are more than likely viri--BUT-- PC viri and thus not harmful to you. This is why Norton reports "No viruses found"--because they are not Mac viri. You don't say what OS you are using, but if you are using X, there are no viri for that OS. If you are using 9, Norton should catch the (few) OS 9 viri. I don't waste time worrying about viri. In fact I've not used an anti virus program for years. No infection since the late '80s when I caught one that was easily killed. You are receiving email even from people you don't know because you and these senders have a mutual contact who has both of you in his/her address book. PC virus, in order to distribute themselves widely, secretly send copies of themselves to radomly selected names in a users address book. Get Emailer cleanup (at versiontracker) to delete pesky .zip, .exe, etc. files.
