Ok, maybe our Macs are immune to the viruses going around right now, but they still can suffer the effects. One of these bonehead mass-mailer worms sent out an attachment named ".zip". Emailer got it & downloaded it and now it is invisible everywhere except in e-mailer. (I'm sure you all realize the naming a file with a period at the front is a Mac "no-no").
I cannot delete it. Oddly, I somehow managed to "drag" it from my downloads folder to my desktop (where it is still invisible!). I did this by grabbing it in the Emailer attachments window and dragging towards the desktop. Don't ask me what I was thinking... I don't know why I thought it would be any more visible there. Now it will not drag anywhere else... well, at least it is resisting my efforts to drag it to the trash (no doubt one of the quirks of Classic interacting with OSX). I tried doing a "ls" command in the Terminal, but it doesn't even show up that way. HELP! I really don't want this file sitting around on my hard drive like a benign but hideously defacing tumor.
