It's not so much that it is a no-no, its just that any file starting with a period will be made invisible in OS X. (its a unix thing). I wish OS X had an ability like Windows to show all files including invisible ones in the Finder. >I tried doing a "ls" command in the Terminal, but it doesn't even show up >that way.
