It's not so much that it is a no-no, its just that any file starting with 
a period will be made invisible in OS X. (its a unix thing). I wish OS X 
had an ability like Windows to show all files including invisible ones in 
the Finder.

"ls -a" will show it.

Then once you know you are in the correct directory (because the ls -a 
showed the file), just do a "rm .zip" to delete it.
