What I would love to know is what are the pros and cons between Thunderbird and Mail and Emailer.

Well, that depends on what your criteria are for deciding what's a pro and what's a con. What's important to you?


Why don't those of us who are interested post a list of what's important to them? When we have a final list, each client's expert can answer the questions (perhaps we can make a table?) with a short pro & con list at the end.

Things that are important to me (in the order that they popped into my head/no particular order):

 (1) Free (no price tag)
 (2) Open source
 (3) Cross platform
 (4) Extensible (this is naturally related to (2))
 (5) Open PGP support
 (6) SSL support
 (7) IMAP support
 (8) Built-in adaptive junk filter
 (9) Product support similar to Emailer-Talk (the best kind ;-) )
(10) User interface layout like Emailer
