I am certain that you will be inundated with many messages giving you the same answer, but here goes anyway: Get a copy of Mail Siphon. It allows you to connect to your email pop-server and view the headers of messages there (and even read a portion, or all of the message content). It also allows you to delete messages directly from the server, so offending messages, like this one that is affecting emailer, can be trashed without ever having to download them. Mail Siphon is available (shareware, I think) from the developer's website (http://www.maliasoft.com/us/whatsnew.html). It runs under OS 8-9 and also under OSX. It is one of the "necessary" tools to have around.
