I assume you mean to be using a hacked version of Emailer 2.0v3. That fact alone throws all reason out the window when it comes to comparing 1.1v3's ability to send. Actually, if 1.1v3 can send, then why are you using a hacked version of 2.0v3 anyway? Just use the regular version. Of course assuming you mean to be using the hacked version because Earthlink requires SMTP Authentication... when did you download the copy you are running? I identified an issue with the hacked version about a week or so ago. I forgot to change the HELO to EHLO to let mail servers know it was going to try SMTP Authentication. I have since fixed that (not all mail servers care, but some do, Earthlink is one of them). So unless you downloaded the hacked version in the last few days, I'd redownload it and use the new copy. <http://www.mythtech.net/SMTP_Auth_Login.sit> >> Sending mail using "smtp.earthlink.net" >> ** SMTP server error "504 LOGIN mechanism not supported" Oh, you know what I just noticed.... doesn't Earthlink use smtpauth.earthlink.net for their authenticated mail server? Try changing the mail server to smtpauth.earthlink.net and see what happens. That said, another person has reported the same error you are seeing with Earthlink. In my testing, it appears to go thru just fine with Earthlink (using smtpauth.earthlink.net), but I don't have an earthlink account, so I can't be 100% sure (using a bogus account and password, it goes thru the motions correctly with Earthlink and fails where it should fail, which is later then where it looks like it is failing for actual earthlink users). If someone that has earthlink and has the SMTP Auth hacked version working could chime in, that would be great. Otherwise, someone needs to be willing to run a stream log to see what it is doing behind the scenes and send that to me... or be willing to share their username/password with me so I can test it and see why it is failing. Until one of the above happens, there isn't much more I can do to help getting it working with Earthlink (I guess alternate options could be, talk Earthlink tech support into giving me an account long enough to test it, or someone give me $25 so I can buy earthlink service for a month and try to get it working... or maybe if Earthlink offers multiple email addresses, setup an address for me to test with... anything along those lines... point is, I need to see a stream log of the actual data going between Earthlink and Emailer, and that means either someone has to get the log for me, or get me access to a valid username and password so I can do the log myself.) -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
