You can set your account to only download the first x amount of an email. Set it to something low like 5k and that may stop it. Although I have a feeling, the attachments you are getting are small enough to fit thru any setting you use that doesn't also end up cutting out portions of your legit email (certainly the HTML attachments are likely small enough). So you may instead want to write an applescript that deletes the attachments when you receive them. You can set it to delete anything that ends in .GIF or .html. There are similar scripts already available for the html ones, and modifying one to also do the gifs shouldn't be too hard.
