In Digest V2005 #93, the person identified as

hunted and pecked out the following:

>This is a company that handles seriously large company accounts but I
>still get personal service for around $55 a month. That might seem
>expensive for a basic ADSL account with 100Mb web space and an email
>server but it's a business account and everything costs double in the UK.
>I think I get good value. I certainly never get "fobbed off". In fact
>they used to call ME for help when they had a Mac user with a problem!

LOL!! Here in southeast Georgia, USA, I was one of the first subscribers
to an ISP in a nearby (17 miles) small (Pop. abt 8,500 then) town, the
day after his advt. of service availability ran in the local (weekly)
newspaper. Jim didn't have his server up yet, but I talked him into
taking my money, accepting my user ID (see sig.) and password, and
letting me know via my CompuServe account when Altamaha.net was up and
running. I was his only Mac customer for abt three years, and -- being
retired -- made some customer visits for him as Macs became more abundant.

I'd still be with him, but the phone company jerked him around for over a
year on his ability to provide DSL connections, and I finally deserted to
BellSouth. (With the service they've been providing lately I may go
back...)
