>Are you using the 1.3.1 wamcom version? That one's always worked great
>for me,

Yup, the 1.3.1 version. And I admit, if it wasn't for this stupid
freezing problem, I'd love Mozilla. It seems to work great and is pretty
fast. I could live with it freezing with other apps other than AIM, which
it does, but so rarely that I could accept it. But when it and AIM are
running, I get the freeze usually twice a day. I can't live with that any
more, and AIM is an essential to my day.

>but then I don't let AIM near my Macs if I can help it. Well,
>actually whenever my nephew stops by he always installs it, then I smack
>'im upside the 'ead, then I delete it as fast as possible 'cause ^%#**&@
>AIM always seems to eventually crash every Mac I've ever seen it on.

I'm actually pretty happy with the 4.7 version, which was the last
released for OS 9. I'd move AIM to my PC, except that for some strange
reason, the PC version does not allow for auto logging of messages. I use
(and require) that feature so I can track my conversations (nothing is
worse then having a support chat, and then having to reask the same
questions two days later because you forgot the info or lost your
notes... auto logging of chats keeps me from having to take notes and
prevents me from losing them).

>Aren't there any AIM alternatives under classic MOS?

Humm... could be, I'll have to check around and see what my options are.
Maybe that is the right way to go, replace AIM and then stick to Wamcom
Mozilla for web browsing.
