Hi Chris-
I am most interested in why you did not care for Mail. Since I lost my Claris Emailer due to my old computer dying I have been using my granddaughters and its Mail program and while I prefer CE I am sort of used to Mail now and I'm not sure I can list why I prefer CE. The other question I have is why is it that so many of you professionals prefer CE and why then don't the designers of these other programs incorporate what CE has that would be of benefit. In other words why don't they come up with a standard mail program that incorporates the best features of all these other programs?

regards,
doug

I'm curious to know which email client you chose.

I have not yet made a final decision, but currently it is looking like I
will go with MailSmith.

I have tried the following:

- Mail (didn't like it)
- PowerMail (didn't like it)
- GyzaMail (didn't use it for long as it didn't really stand out)
- Eudora (haven't used on my Intel iMac, but I have used it on other
machines, don't really care for it)
- Outlook/Outlook Express (don't think they exist for the Intel iMac, but
have used them in the past, hate them)
- MailSmith (still not perfect, but best so far)
- Thunderbird (have to retry this, tried it in the past, didn't like it, later found out much of what I didn't like is changable in the prefs. My
wife likes it on Windows)
- Entourage (refuse to try it for personal reasons)

I think that is all I've tried so far. There might be one more that I
tried that was an open source version of Mail... although that could have been GyzaMail and I'm just not remembering fully (I know I tried an open
source version of Mail, and I didn't really care for it).

I'm still hunting for additional options, and I haven't ruled out that
long term, I'll end up writing my own email client.
