In Mac OS X, the system-wide default email application is set within the Apple Mail program. (Go figure!) In the Mail Preferences dialog, under the General pane, Default Email Reader. To choose Claris Emailer you need to choose the Select... option from the popup menu, then locate your Emailer application. In my case, I've recently noticed that this Preference setting keeps changing back to Apple Mail. I've had to start using Mail (rather than Emailer) for one of my accounts, because my ISP has changed their mail server POP settings. I can no longer authenticate to get mail using the account setting of the format [EMAIL PROTECTED] :-( The only strange thing is that I can use their SMTP server to send mail from Emailer. I guess this is because they don't require SMTP authentication and that I am connected to the Internet on one of their IP addresses. Unfortunately, trying to use 2 different email programs at the same time is a PITA, so the days of Emailer may be numbered. And do I really need an 8 year old archive of every email I've ever received and sent?
