This is exactly what you do NOT want to do, and is why I brought up the 
fact that the Mail Database is not a text file.

If you were to use Text Edit or any other text editor to break the mail 
database up into smaller files, you will find that none of them will be 
usable by Emailer any longer. 

Also, the danger to reading the mail database in a text editor is, if you 
accidentally change anything, and then save those changes, your entire 
Mail Database may be rendered useless (or possibly worse, Emailer will 
think it is ok for a while, and then later you will have strange 
untraceable problems that will make you think Emailer no longer works at 
all).

Best bet, use the right tool for the job... that is, use Emailer to read 
the mail database. Resorting to using a text editor is fine, if you have 
no other alternative and you understand that once you go down that road, 
you may quickly and easily get yourself into a position where that mail 
database can no longer be used by Emailer.
