As I mentioned, I have OS 9.1, which I recall is a bit different from OS 8.6. So the appearance of your control panels may be different from what I see in OS 9.1. If your Internet control panel does not have an "Advanced" tab, then you could try either of these approaches: 1) Quit everything. Open the File Exchange control panel, and select the PC Exchange settings tab (not the File Translation tab). Delete the settings for .htm and .html, or reset them for Mozilla instead of IE. 2) Quit everything. Open IE -> Preferences -> File Helpers. Make your change there. Changing the IE prefs will write to both the Internet control panel and the File Exchange/PC Exchange control panels. Note... Apple guidelines for OS 8.x and 9.x always said that IE (and any application) should not write to the Apple control panels or Apple system prefs. But IE violated that rule, and did write directly to the Apple control panel prefs. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Roger S.
