If you mean that you are using CDs that you burned, those CDs are not erasable (or writeable) after you "finalize" the disk. If you burn the CD as a "multi-session disk," you will be able to write new files to a new partition on the CD, but you will neither be able to either write to the previous partition, nor able to erase files from the previous partition. If you burn a "multi-session" disk, when you mount the CD on your Mac, each session you burned will appear as a different volume (a different CD). CDs used to be called "WORM" media: write once, read many.
