Hi... my first post here.

I'm a long time Emailer user, and recently migrated to 10.4.3 (Tiger),
where I'm using Emailer under Classic.

The other day, I worked out a way to get Emailer to handle browser
'mailto' URLs under Tiger, and thought I might share the result with this
list... but I've found no one yet with the time or temerity to test it on
their own machine.

I'd rather not make a general release of it until it has been tested
(preferably repeatedly) elsewhere.

'MailTo Emailer' is a specially prepared AppleScript that simply passes
mailto URL info to Emailer... whence Emailer handles the URL on its
own... resulting in a new, addressed outgoing message.

It works with _some_ properly formatted, more complex mailto URLs... (and
doesn't complain when it can't).

MailTo Emailer replaces any existing mailto protocol and must be
'installed' using a utility like MoreInternet, MisFox or similar. At
present, it's not clear to me whether OS X's Mail.app must be disabled to
use MailTo Emailer... I did so on my own machine to ensure there would be
no conflicts.

It works nicely here, but there may be caveats and 'gotchas' elsewhere.
It is offered only as a run only script for now... meaning you cannot
view the script code... which I realize may sour first impressions... but
I have my reasons.

A show of hands from brave souls willing to try it out (and/or those
interested in its utility) would be welcome. I monitor the list from the
web archive... but will reply to individual posts as time permits.

Thanks for any/all replies.

PS - Any cure ever found for the occasional, random duplicate incoming
message problem?

I wrote another script to clear the 'Temp Incoming' folder, but haven't
put it into regular use as yet. The duplicates are sometimes confusing,
but I don't consider it more than a minor annoyance.
