I have a question about Mail Actions and the addressbook.
I have been using Mail Actions to filter my incoming mail for some time,
and quite successfully, I might add. I have an action set up that checks
the incoming mail against my addressbook, and if the sender is NOT in my
addressbook, the mail is sent to a folder I have designated "-Potential
SPAM".
Recently, I modified several addressbook entries (for surveys that I
subscribe to), by checking the box in the addressbook entry that reads
"Hide in Address Book (show only in groups)". Since then, all of my
survey email is getting sent to my "-Potential SPAM" folder, as though
the addressbook entries no longer exist.
Is it that I do not understand the function of this selection in the
addressbook entry?
I am sure that I don't understand this function, because when I open the
addressbook by clicking on the icon in the toolbar, or by selecting the
addressbook from the Window menu, I still see the checked entries, they
are just italicized. It is only when I click on the find address
selection (hourglass) when sending an email that the addressbook entries
that I have checked do not appear.
I have gone back and unchecked each of these addressbook entries, and
everything works as before, just wondering if anyone can explain the
"logic" of this selection in Address Book entries?
Regards,
Joe G.
