CB wrote a 587 mod, and a SMTP mod, but not one that can work for both.
Plus, the SMTP mod, as far as I can tell, cannot send from joe.com,
bill.com and chuck.com.

I just posted a new version on my web site that is the stock 2.0v3 PPC version of Emailer, but with it set to use port 587 for SMTP traffic instead of port 25.

There is no authentication, no dual @ support, and SMTP occurs before POP. Like I said, this is the stock 2.0v3 version with no other changes besides the port 587 change.

If you need the Emailer Custom Settings, then you need to install that on its own, as I did not roll the Mail From change into this version. If I didn't make it clear, pretend you installed Emailer 2.0v3 from scratch, and then just made it send on port 587 instead of 25. :-)

I have not done ANY testing with this version as I don't have access to a server using port 587 and does not require authentication. As a result, I have no idea if it even works (well, ok, I launched it to personalize it, and make sure it didn't just explode on start).

Standard disclaimers apply, if you use it, I take no responsibility for death, dismemberment, abduction by aliens, or damages caused to your personal, financial, love, or any other so called life you may have.

To use it, download it, unstuff it, and drop it into the same place as your current Emailer application. Quit any running versions you have, then launch the new version. It will use the same prefs, mail database, settings, and everything else. To stop using it, quit it and launch some other version of Emailer instead.

You can get it from the app mods section of my Emailer site at <http://www.mythtech.net/emailer> It is the one marked CE- Stock_Port587.sit or something to that effect.

If you are not Mark and you are reading this email, and you don't understand what this version is for or what it does or if you need it... then you can safely ignore the whole email as it doesn't apply to you so none of that information becomes relevant to your existence or time here on earth.
