Dear List, Do you have many messages in CE ? Do you have many folders ?
Imagine you are in the CE browser list, inside a folder. You just did a SELECT ALL to prepare to move messages, or trash messages or apply a script..whatever. But then you see you actually had to select some but not all. You need to get rid of the SELECT ALL. There is no key for this. (Intuitively, this should have been ESC, or toggle Apple-A) So what I used to do is select another folder for a second, and then reselect 'this' folder. BUT, it takes CE a while and the disk is pretty active while you do that.. So I wanted a quicker way to get rid of a SELECT ALL.. and here is the simple sollution: Try it... just take a huge folder and do SELECT ALL Apple-A. To get rid of it, hold the Apple key, and click on any message, next, without moving the mouse, release the Apple key, and click again. Et voila ! Your select all is gone. And no harm is done. Should any of you get dismembered, then I will remember you :-) So, bear in mind that Apple + Click toggles the SELECT on individual messages. So you can select a series of 100 messages that look like SPAM, and then take out the 5 messages individually that are from your relatives or customers. And I am bending that very same trick to de-select all. Simple, stupid, but useful.
