Here are the settings for my dialup account which works
perfectly:
Account name: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
User name: William D. Bandes
Email account: [EMAIL PROTECTED]@mail.macdialup.com
Email password:
SMTP server: mail.macdialup.com
Email address: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I am keeping the above address (at least for the time being).
However, I have just signed up with Verizon DSL and I want
to be able to receive and send mail with my Verizon address
through Emailer.
So I called tech support and I put into Emailer's account setup
what they told me to put in. But I got the following error
message from Emailer:
Connecting to Internet using Account [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Checking email account ³incoming.verizon.net²
** Could not check messages because either the domain name
or the username of your email account is blank. The email
account should be of the form [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I doubt that the support tech is really tuned in to what Emailer
needs, but here is what he told me to put in:
Account name: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
User name: William D. Bandes
Email account: incoming.verizon.net
Email password:
SMTP server: outgoing.verizon.net
Email address: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (that's my actual address)
Now, maybe someone on the list is handling their Verizon email
through Emailer and can spot what's wrong. Or perhaps someone
can give me a clue that I could go back to tech support with.
Thanks,
Bill
