Hope the list is still viable... Recently it seems that [EMAIL PROTECTED] checks mail when I start the G4 (QuickSilver, on it's way out -- FireWire bus is dead, acn other problems) and the following message turns up in the Error Log:
>Unpacking messages >** Could not successfully startup or quit because an unknown error (- >5000) occurred. What might this mean, and how can I fix it (if I can)? Oh yes, the "Othr problems". For some reason when I put the G4 (733MHz, 1.5GB RAM, lots of drive space, 10.4.11) to sleep the drives and fan don't shut down, and when I attempt to wake the Mac (as I have been for eons) it doesn't work -- requires a restart. Everything in the Power Saver panel is set to defaults EXCEPT "Wake when the modem detects a ring" and "Wake for Ethernet network administrator access". Is Windows 2000 reliable? That is the 63,000 bug question... "How many of you would spend $500 on a piece of software with over 63,000 potential known defects?" Marc Lucovsky, one of Microsoft's Windows development leaders, in an internal Microsoft memo. ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
