OK, so just recently, someone on this list sent a message (unfortunately, I deleted it), that seemed to tell of a workaround they have found for retrieving AOL email using Claris [EMAIL PROTECTED] If I remember correctly, it hseemed to have something to do with the order in which connections to email servers was made.
Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions for me - I am having intermittent (mostly non-successful) ability to connect to AOL to gather my email. The process hangs with the message in the connections window showing "Checking Password". After a minute or so, the process times out and an error log is created telling me that the server timed out. I have captured a log of the connection process using Interarchy, and since I don't understand the protocol that AOL uses for communication/connection, I can only say that my username and password are apparently accepted, but the next step (which I assume should be for AOL's server to respond to a "LIST" request) is not happening. Any ideas?
