Holy, geeze! Brett's story could have been a Noam Chomsky case-study in the
media's propaganda model! Wowsah....

As far as I can see, Java has Sun and VB/ASP has Microsoft -- but Perl only
has us lowly developers. The press is only writing about their advertiser's
products, and (worse still) universities are only teaching about the
brochures they receive.

According to this poll on the *Sun* developer site, Perl use exceeds that of
JSP, ASP and PHP -- *combined*! How much ya wanna bet Sun deletes this poll
in a hurry? I don't anticipate any press releases from Sun on the topic....
Petreley seems like a nice guy, and a fan of Open-Source software. I hope
you all write him a note! I don't think he knows that EmbPerl (or CPAN!)
exists.
