The error for me was: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE at address: 0x00000013

The back trace looked like this:

I did a little googling and found similar problems people have
experienced with other software packages when trying to install them on
a mac. Specifically i searched for:

"KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE at address:" OS X "Bus error"

or just:

"KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE at address:" OS X

All of it is a bit over my head unfortunately. But perhaps someone else
can look through the results and find something helpful.
