Actually, Embperl is staying and not abandoned. The report was wrong. That being said, Perl-CGI is nothing like embperl Perl is a language. CGI is an apache interface that can be used with any language. Perl has modules to help use a CGI interface. Embperl is like CGI (but faster and easier to use).
