I will post report as soon as network will be working again on the EMC machine

complete install is "by-the-manual" found on the webpages, so... I
cannot remember if the RTAI was built from source :-(

OK, I found the manual - so, I did compile something, but the magma
core is from the ubuntu repository, so I think I did not compile that
one.

3.2. Getting the source with CVS
EMC2 source is stored in a system called CVS. To get the latest
released version of emc2,

 cvs -z5 -d:ext:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvs co -rRELEASE_2_0_5 -d emc2-2.0.5 emc2

I am confused now. I vaguely remember that some installer asked me
about getting RTAI too, and I still can not remember how this
happened... maybe because I got a very bad cold now.

Hours and hours of rtai/kern latency tests :-)
I may send the script and some results as soon as I get the network working.
