Follow-up:  the reason I only got 4 of 5 messages from the
commit list was a bug in libesmtp on the cvs server.  It
resulted in two messages with the same message ID.  The new
mail service deleted the duplicate (in compliance with internet
RFCs).  Their support people we able to explain why the message
got lost, I passed the info on to Chris, and the cvs server
is now fixed.

It wasn't sourceforge (this time).
