I have read about this a few times before. It woud seem that you woud always want the control to tell you when it can't cut the radius that you programmed for.
My experience is only for lathes so I can't comment too much on anything else but if I wrote a program to use a small radius tool tip then changed my mind and wanted to use a larger radius tool, for what ever reason, I would be annoyed to have to modify the g code just so i can use a different radius tool tip. As a machinist I should know that changing the cutter radius will change the minimum possible radius-if I have done that then it must not matter to me.Given the amount of comments about this over the years and the fact the industry standard practice of other controls seems to be different could this feature not be made 'intergrater selectable' in a future version of EMC?
