John, A couple of more things, most of which are probably obvious to you anyway.
1> After following these steps, there is no problem installing the development environment and building from source. The error will still occur, and debug information can be added to the source as necessary. 2> The simplistic way to generate the segfault error (without the development environment): /etc/init.d/realtime start halcmd show pin [Or whatever hal command you want to run] Regards, Eric Thanks for posting those steps. I planning to do a similar light-weight install over the weekend - I just got an Atom motherboard that I want to use for a robotics project. I won't be using EMC2, but I will be using HAL. I had been thinking of using Dapper instead of Hardy, but I think I'll start by following your steps. If I can duplicate the problem I'll see what I can figure out. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This SF.net email is sponsored by: SourcForge Community SourceForge wants to tell your story. http://p.sf.net/sfu/sf-spreadtheword _______________________________________________ Emc-developers mailing list Emc-developers@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-developers
