While that is common for for gui applications, this is a machine tool that includes some possible danger to the user and itself if used incorrectly. i.e. if a casual user not you explore your machine and modify your settings it could be put in a dangerous state, sometimes ease of use can also be ease of hurting yourself or the machine.
I too adjusted my machine many times when I first set it up, then I have left the settings stable for over a year.
