That is....
I can make fpga board at home. But I know that wery few can do that. So 
I make right now the board without SMD just to addres home builders. 
Thus I in doubt now what way to go. I can use thin traces and 
singlesided board or wider trace and double sided board(or a lot of 
jumper wires). As I know the EPP should be easy to interface (timing 
model) but the hardware is so different and need some pullup's in some 
case's.

I wan't to see on linuxcnc page some expansion board to address a little 
low number of pins on printer port.  Just expander not hardware stepgen.

For stepper driver the linistepper is good one for low budget. And just 
try to find out on linuxcnc page.

Just make teh difference for hobby use and prof.
