Yes there is a 2.5 branch now. The last big addition to 2.5 was switching the docs to docbook, thanks to Pavel S's hard work. That still needs some more time to stabilize, I think - I am not sure it's quite right yet. I heard someone mention missing images, and I think dependencies may not be right. I have not investigated it. Are you asking about adding new features? Let's talk about them here if so. If you are making bugfixes and other stabilizing changes, please feel free to go ahead anytime. 2.5 is going to be periodicially merged into master, like we've been doing with 2.4.
