Gentle persons:

Apart from the figures and mathematical expressions, the most pressing presentation issue I see with the current 2.5 docs concerns the links, their targets, and the titles/captions/etc. presented to the user.

John already pointed out that the links in the body of the pdf docs all point to 'page i' (but not the links in the tables of content...talk about a dog barking in the night!) while the same links in the html docs resolve to their proper targets.

I am just as distressed that in either format, we see running text like "see figure [fig:StepDir-timing]' or look at blah blah blah 'in Section([cha:Stepconf-Wizard])' . This is truly ugly. I completely understand how this situation came about in the process of transcoding the lyx sources (thank you, Kim). We just need to finish the job now that we're firmly on asciidoc ground.

Clearly there is appropriate information generated internally since, for the examples above, in both formats of the resulting documents the title of the section referenced by [cha:Stepconf-Wizard] is "7. Stepconf Wizard" and the caption of the figure referenced by [fig:StepDir-timing] is "Figure 4. Step and Direction Timing".

I confess I don't understand some of the machinations that happen during the current docs processing and the divergence in the production of html and pdf. Before I get too far afield using brute-force-and-ignorance to test the tool chain looking for an appropriate fix that holds up in both formats, I'd like to know if others have explored this situation and have suggestions.

Regards,
Kent
