First of all, this is not a question for developers' mailing list. There is Users' mailing list for these kind of questions. Second of all, have You looked at 7i76's manual? http://www.mesanet.com/pdf/parallel/7i76man.pdf I think that it will answer a lot of potential questions about the use of card. And those that will remain - You are welcome to post them on the LinuxCNC users' mailing list :) Very very first 2 sentences (after the contents) are: "The 7I76 is daughtercard/breakout board for use with MESA's 25 pin I/O FPGA cards like the 5I25. The 7I76 is designed for interfacing up to 5 Axis of step &dir step motor or servo motor drives..." It means: this is breakout board to communicate with stepper drives. You are supposed to connect Your stepper motors to stepper drives (and stepper motor power also should be connected to stepper motor drives); 7i76 is the card, which will send the step/dir signals to each of the stepper drives, collect signals from limit/homing switches (be sure to check the voltages of those signals not to damage the card), the card itself is not a stepper driver, so there is absolutely no sense to connect stepper motors to the card, as absolutely nothing good will happen. I am not sure about harming the card that way.
