It has happened to me several times now that I looked into some software package and only then learn out that it is perceived to be incompatible with the LinuxCNC license.
To cut the waste of time and effort, I've started a Wiki page on license compatibility. http://wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?LicenseCompatibility Some I've stumbled over, and I am unclear about, are: Mozilla, LGPL, LGPL 2.1 license (static linking permitted), BSD, MIT I have no intent to start a licensing discussion, I am no expertise in licensing, and dont intend to become one; I do believe the current collective view needs documentation. Please feel free to add directly to the Wiki page, or drop me a mail on the issue, or contact me on IRC. Also, I would appreciate pointers to discussions and decisions pertaining to the issue since they might make sense to add. - Michael ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond.
