If it does, it shouldn't for clarity. Then there is the old example of RT-Linux, Xenomai, and the soft real-time preemptive work done by Artek (where they removed the real-time kinematics from EMC and implemented them on an FPGA (with NURBS) -- just to name a couple. It may just be that it needs a name change or clearer docs.
