The latest patch set from John Morris has been applied, and the code is ready to check out and use. If you are using Debian Wheezy, make sure you use gcc 4.6 instead of 4.7! While the code is usable as-is, at least two areas need some attention: * Modification of the debian/ directory to enable building preempt-rt packages allowing easy testing on modern Debian/Ubuntu systems that ship with the preempt-rt kernel as an option. * Review of permissions and the setuid bits required to run. At the moment if HAL ever crashes or doesn't load properly, it is fairly ugly trying to get things cleaned up so you can run LinuxCNC again. NOTE: If you would like to experiment but do not have a preempt-rt kernel, I believe you should be able to build and run as-is, you will just experience nasty latency values until you run under a preempt-rt kernel. - -- Charles Steinkuehler char...@steinkuehler.net -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.11 (MingW32) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAlB0bLMACgkQLywbqEHdNFzzDACgug6oP3N+sXzNUI3r9k4mndMn BWwAoJ2HwqJk+YYrprD8H42ikPYrbLg5 =evNh -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Don't let slow site performance ruin your business.
