If you compiled from sources and built a run-in-place linuxcnc then the script
will need to be called.
If you installed binaries then you don't use the script.
Do you now have two binaries installed?
I'm sorry I'm going to bow out of the problem solving as I use run-in-place
almost exclusively.
But Gscreen is in master has been for a awhile. For whatever reason it seems
master is not starting for you.
