I am not convinced by your logic that non-existence of structure and 
incremental meandering is a prerequisite to attract and retain talent with a 
200kSLOC project

my experience tells me otherwise as well; the hope for 'unguided miracle 
workers' at that point seems to be just that, too - but send them over if they 
show up
