I think it's just plain curiosity. I'm sure Ray will be fine with whatever is good for the project. AFAIK Ray is up in the UP of Michigan making the big bucks sawing, planing and selling basswood carving blocks to hobbyists and artists. Ray did tell me that he went to see Fred Proctor at NIST sometime in the early-mid 1990s about the EMC project, so his involvement in this thing might be just as long as mine.
