I was just about to suggest CURSES ;-)

No, for a real answer take a look at NanoX/Microwindows (I have not 
used it, only read about it).

Other than that, there is plenty of code you could likely adopt from 
something like Plan9port or similar projects (or at least I think they 
implemented a direct FB renderer).
