Over a 20 dollar bill for shipping on the adaptors, ouch. > Thinking about it. Its not something I need instantly, and the big drill chuck supplied with the mill can go down to 3mm & I think up to 3/4". Its a horse of a chuck, so I may give it a try. > > In the meantime, the 2nd pair of 1Gb memory modules walked up and rang > the doorbell just before we went to have dinner, so now they are in > the machine and memtest86+ is sniffing at them... > They made it thru about 1.5 passes of memtest w/o any errors, so I rebooted and played about in the bios, and it appears the ps2 keyboard is now functioning at the grub prompt. The machine feels better with the faster ram, responding to very small fractions of a second move commands. I tried to convert my blanket-chest carving code to do all the changes for the various boards in just a couple variables at the top of the file, but as usual I now have it screwed up, some math error someplace. The initial scan plot, and the running backplot disagree, and its too small to be a tool_rad added instead of subtracted type error. Plus it is supposed to carve either 5 fingers, or 5 sockets for the mating fingers, but is doing 4.5. Fingers too wide in either event. Since I did some other work building a clamp kit and collet holder & getting that mounted for handy usage, I'll tackle the software error when I am fresher in the morning. In making a rack for the R8 stuff, I didn't space the holes far enough apart by about a millimeter. I'll make another someday when I get tired of pinching my fingers. :) [...] Cheers, Gene Heskett -- "There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo.
