Gentlemen, acknowledgement jog while in MDI/Auto and jog while paused are two very different things.
ok addressing jog while in MDI/Auto My Cincinnati 950 control works as follows There is no Manual mode button. There is an MDI button. There is an Run button (auto mode) in ANY mode, while the machine is idle, the jog buttons and MPG work to move the machine While in run, if you jog the machine and then hit cycle start without moving the machine back to where it stopped during the program execution you will not follow the programmed path. That can be a good thing and that can be a bad thing - your choice. Operator correction OR operator error. The machine does not care. While in MDI the machine does not cache any commands other than the one line input for the move/action just requested on the command line. I do not know how the control handles it internally. The control's response to jog motion during both MDI and Run mode is apparent as follows. Machine completes execution of the current command. The operator presses a jog button or pushes the button to enable the MPG. The control appears to change state to allow the manual motion. There is a hesitation between the push of a jog button and machine motion and/or a hesitation between pushing the MPG enable button and the light coming on telling you the MPG is enabled. When you push the cycle start button after completion of the jog motion the control appears to change state to the MDI/Run mode. If on, the MPG enable light goes out and the control hesitates (for sometimes a few seconds) before beginning the commanded execution. The hesitation and single light action are the only operator apparent feedbacks while operating the machine. ok Jog while pause if I push the feed hold button to stop the machine and wish to move the machine I must first push the [Stop Program Execution] button to clear the machine's state. Upon restart I MUST move the program to what is called a SYNC line in the program. This line contains a : (colon) at the front of the line. The machine will NOT start on any other line than one with a colon at the front of the line. This is not what I would like but it is what it is. I am obliged to deal with it. thanks Stuart -- Addressee is the intended audience.
