How can it not?  The only way a machine behind a firewall 
using NAT could be attacked is if the firewall was 
compromised or the machine made a connection to an untrusted 
node.  If you use a little common sense, you'd only contact 
trusted sites from the machine, such as for updates.  That 
should be pretty safe.
