Is your ilowpass.scale = 1? That's surprising to me. On my machine (which cradek configured) the scale is 250. I have 4 encoder edges per MPG detent, so i get 1,000 counts out of ilowpass per detent. Maybe I have the same off-by-one problem on the output that you describe, but it's only got a 1/250 part of the effect. I've never noticed a problem like this, but i've never payed close attention to the numbers.
