hi *, I'm linuxCNC-user from germany. since about 3 or 4 years.
not in a production-environment - I use it just for fun for 3 or 4 axis mills, laser-engraver or 3d-printer. my question for a very long time has been this: its not easy, to get motherboards with a parport. mesa-cards are exotic and expensive, usb-parports not for reatlime-usage. so I began to write a raw-eth-driver fro the raspberry. I patched the hal_parport.c and gave it a "virtual parport". this driver exchanges data-telegrams with a send/receive-thread on the PC and on the rasPI. the system runs now and I will make more timing-tests and documentation the next days. will I find here other readers/writers, who an anwser me some questions? if this driver works as expected, what I have to do, for integrating it into the distribution? at the moment, I do my tests with older rtai and preemt-rt systems. has anyone tested with rtai 5.1? (I was unable to build a running kernel) thats all, for the beginning.... I am happily awaiting feedback ;-) wicki _______________________________________________ Emc-developers mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-developers
