And apt is installing the list. 294 pkgs, 1.3GB. That will take a few yet. In fact, everything except where to get it is dust in the wind until section 3.2 where the real work starts.
Still had to add about 6 dependencies before configure would run to completion, but cd ..;dpkg-buildpackage is running now. Many thanks, following the web page its too easy to get out of sequence. Humm, just stopped at building rs274ngc. Restarted dpkg-buildpackage, which starts from square one. And it shouldn't be hot, the -j didn't have an argument. So we'll see in another hour or so.
