Support for 2.7 is to be disabled. I'd imagine that implies the repo machines
will get recycled to service 3.7 faster. If you still want to use it for new
stuff, I'd say to setup a local repo and clone it for your use.
Being the last of the 2.x series, 2.7 will receive bugfix support until
2020. Support officially stops January 1 2020, but the final release
will occur after that date.

One thing I've noticed is Debian 10 has dropped some libraries that
are used in some of the GUI's, I don't know if the authors are working
on that or not, for me I just don't use them and remove the
dependency.
In that case, what quits working?
Anything that uses python-gtksourceview2 or python-vte, gscreen and any
of it's clones will not work.
We seem to be a loosely knit group of time challenged folks as of

have the skill set to make this project cruse along are very busy. And

Hey, Cardinal rule, John, if its working, don't fix it. I am still running
master-rt on wheezy on 3 of my wintel boxes. Working great. Wished I had a
Hardinge more than twice, but my Sheldon is approaching pretty good too. And
tooling is way cheaper for the sheldon.
Last spring I fixed a laser bore sighter for power out of the rear of the spindle,
put a photocell on the tailstock, and a knife edge in the toolpost and used the
screw comp stuff to compensate for bed wear, and that improved its cylindrical cuts
by around 5 thou in the first 14" of the bed, so it can now produce a fairly
cylindrical profile there.
I was quite disappointed when I found the spindle was bent, about 7 thou at the
mouth of the mt5, presumably from haveing a 35lb chuck mounted when it fell
over, landing of the compound handle and broke the compound all to pieces, at
some point before it jumped into a cargo van and followed me home from Tenn.
But thats all been corrected since. But the only work thats come looking for it
is stuff I can only do for me unless I want to get a class 3 ffl.
Its all hobby anyway, with outgo exceeding income by about 10000/1. With SS for
income, I often make rather than buy. With the missus and her COPD keeping me
within an hour or 2 of the house, even my second carear is on hold, that of
playing traveliing broadcast engineer going around and retuning AM broadcast
towers. There's some black magic that sells at a premium price involved there
and once I'm not tied to the house, I can double or triple my SS income
depending on how much I want to work.
Wish I was in your neck of the woods, I hear the fishing is great, and I've
heard he doesn't charge you for the time spent tending a fishing rod.
From 65 on you do not need a fishing license in Missouri, you still
have to buy a trout stamp if you fish for them. I've not been fishing in
a long time, I used to do some pond fishing years ago for Red Eared
Sunfish, Bluegill and the occasional Crappy all of which are like potato
chips you can't just eat one...
Fishing is almost a waste of time here. Got water, miles of it locally as
Stonewall Jackson Lake and Dam is just a mile out the other side of town, but
few fish. Looks like bassy water, but I've only caught a couple bullheads in
35 years here.
