Ugh, there is a wiki page under "Installing linuxCNC" that
has sections for many (old) systems.
There a link at the top of the page, but it doesn't have
info on compiling from source.
So, this Wiki page is the only place I know that tells how
to do the whole process.
Anyway, I did manage to plunge through it and get it running.
